Because of recent floods and storm damage in the Old Forge and Tupper Lake areas, all train rides to and from Tupper Lake have been stopped until August 31, 2023, so that the tracks can be fixed. We are working closely with city and state officials to fix any damage to the track. We will give you more information as it becomes available.
The Adirondack Railway Preservation Society (ARPS), which runs the Adirondack Railway, wants to keep and restore train service between the High Peaks region, Central New York, and other places using rail connections in Utica. ARPS works with communities and companies along the line to promote the railway as a driver of economic growth and to teach people about its history and the environment.
Our goal includes making it easier for people of all ages and physical abilities to get to remote parts of the Adirondack Park by adding more rail and coordinated-trail-based services.
The Adirondack Railway Preservation Society (ARPS) does not and will not discriminate based on race, colour, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in any of its activities or operations. These things include, but are not limited to, hiring and firing staff, choosing workers and vendors, and providing services. We are committed to making sure that all of our staff, clients, volunteers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients feel welcome and included.
