In Prologue: Go Wayback!, no two journeys are ever the same.
A brand-new 64 km² world is generated on your PC each time you start the game. Our proprietary machine‑learning technology empowers artists and designers to build a system capable of producing billions of stunning, natural landscapes—each one ready for you to explore.
You have learned to use your own route and judgment to navigate the rugged terrain toward the distant Weather Tower. How you get there, and if you survive, is up to you.

Rain can drench your clothes and put out your fires. The landscape can change with thunderstorms. Blizzards mean snow and the risk of hypothermia.

There are no guides or markers telling you where to go next—only your instincts, your tools, and your choices.

What’s New in This Update?
Following our major update in March, we’ve focused on world and environment changes, along with numerous bug fixes and quality‑of‑life improvements.
New Features
Adding trails was a key priority for us this year—not only for visual enhancement but also for their impact on gameplay and navigation. Trails come in various forms depending on the configuration you choose.
By default, trails connect nearby cabins and shelters, with groups linked to other cabin clusters. They can lead to meadows and cliffs, with only a small chance of encountering a dead end.
We’ve also introduced two alternative trail settings: medium and long‑distance networks that connect cabins and shelters across the map. However, greater connectivity comes with a higher chance of running into dead ends.
Please note: since paths and trails did not exist in previous versions, you may notice slight changes in your surroundings when loading a run from an older save.
New Items
Two new helpful items have been added to Go Wayback!:
Handheld Weather Monitor – Displays current and upcoming weather conditions. Available in different tiers, with some versions offering extra data like humidity and temperature.
Waterproof Spray – Now you can protect not only your clothing but also items such as matches, paper, and more from getting soaked.

Terrain is now generated by the GPU by default for better performance on most systems (CPU generation, the previous method, remains available in Settings)
Note: Due to the terrain generation refactor, when loading runs from earlier patches, trees and rocks may appear in different locations, though the terrain itself should remain unchanged.
