Story
The story is set at Hope's Peak, a prestigious government-sponsored academy that offers top-notch education to high school pupils in a variety of subjects.
The incredibly common protagonist, Makoto Naegi, is admitted to the academy,, which represents the "hope" for the country's future.
He was selected as the "Ultimate Lucky Student" by lot of the other regular pupils to join the academy.
When Makoto passes out in front of the entrance hall on the day of the entrance ceremony, she appears to be back within the academy, which has been sealed off from the outside world. Abruptly, he faints and finds himself back in what seems to be the academy's interior.
The moniker "Hope's Peak Academy" does not convey the depressing vibe that exists there. The ambience of the prison, the dirty hallways, the iron-barred windows... There's a problem.
A teddy bear posing as the principal tells the pupils in the entrance hall that they had to kill someone in order to escape the school, and that they will be housed there till the day they pass away.
Fifteen top students from around the globe, including Makoto, are imprisoned in this academy of dread.
Their hopes are dashed by one event after another. Things that make them doubt themselves, the cruel teacher, and the enigma surrounding the mastermind. What is the goal of the person(s) behind it all?
The fight is on against an unseen foe.
